Isaac Holdings is pleased to announce the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between its subsidiary, Isaac Energies SARLU, and the Direction Générale des Corridors de Développement Industriel (DGCDI).
This landmark agreement establishes a comprehensive framework for the development of integrated energy and agro-industrial hubs within the North Corridor of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The partnership focuses on the province of Bas-Uélé, specifically the city of Buta, leveraging its strategic position as a logistics gateway connecting Kinshasa, Kisangani, and East Africa.
Key Pillars of the Partnership:
Renewable Energy Infrastructure: Collaborative development of a mini-hydroelectric dam with a target capacity of 3 MW to power regional industrial growth.
Agro-Industrial Excellence: The establishment of a specialized park focused on high-value supply chains, including:
Peanuts: Scaling production to 25 tons per month, featuring the proprietary Marie Espérance brand.
Rice & Maize: Combined production targets of 200 tons per month for local and sub-regional markets.
Healthcare Innovation: Exploration of a regional production unit for medical serum to reduce logistics costs and improve healthcare access.
Intellectual Property & Innovation: A unique co-ownership model for all structured projects, ensuring that the technical expertise and innovation contributed by Isaac Holdings are protected and recognized as joint assets with the Congolese State.
“This protocol represents a significant step in our mission to integrate industrial growth with community empowerment,” said Mwema Ndungo Isaac, Group CEO of Isaac Holdings. “By aligning our technical capabilities with the DGCDI’s vision for industrial corridors, we are de-risking critical infrastructure and creating a sustainable blueprint for value-added agriculture in the DRC.”
